"Mendelssohn's Hymn of Praise is a fantastic prelude to the Thanksgiving season. It is said that this Symphony No. 2 was a repsonse to Beethoven's 9th Symphony. Mendelssohn wanted to write a choral symphony to match his masterpiece. This work is a cross between a symphony and a mass with a major overture type first movement followed by 10 choral and solo, duet movements. We are presenting this with a Chamber orchestra and 3 soloists from within the choir. We hope you will plan to attend and support this "Classical" presentation as we attempt to keep this music alive on the Treasure Coast."
